Join Greater Seacoast Community Health for the 16th Annual Father’s Day 5K on Sunday, June 15 at 9 a.m. in Dover. All ages and abilities are invited to participate. Proceeds benefit Greater Seacoast Community Health’s health care and family support programs. The participation fee is $25 for adults, ages 13 and up, and $10 for children, ages 12 and under. Younger participants can enjoy the Kids Fun Zone, packed with games and activities, while everyone can refuel at food trucks from Cheese Louise and Kona Ice.

Holderness, NH – Squam Lakes Natural Science Center celebrates the start of the 2025 public trail season on opening day, Thursday, May 1. Regular hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (last trail admission at 3:30 p.m.)

For nearly 60 years, Squam Lakes Natural Science Center has been a favorite New England family destination, bringing joy, connection, wonder, and discovery to generations of visitors through live animal exhibits, natural science education programs, guided Squam Lake Cruises and the vibrant charm of Kirkwood Gardens. The Science Center is Certified Sensory Inclusive by KultureCity. The 3/4 mile live animal exhibit trail features coyote, fisher, red fox, bobcat, black bear, mountain lion, river otters, white-tailed deer, various owls and raptors, and more. Plan at least two and a half hours to walk the animal exhibit trail, which meanders through open meadows, mature forests, and marsh boardwalks on a packed gravel path.

Trail rates for 2025 are $28 for adults; $26 for seniors (age 65+); $22 for youth (ages 3-15); free for children 2 and under and Science Center members.

The Map and Compass Sport Comes to New Hampshire's Capital This June!

The Up North Orienteers invite the public to come try orienteering at the Broken Ground in Concord on Sunday, June 15th.

The late spring, with its warmer temperatures and longer days, is a wonderful time to try the sport of orienteering. Orienteering is an easy to learn sport that involves navigating between points using a map and compass. Think of it as treasure hunting in the park if you like. Orienteering is appropriate for people of all ages and athletic abilities. You can participate individually or with friends and family.

Participants may register and start any time between 9:30 AM and 12 Noon. Experienced orienteers will be on hand at the Broken Ground to help newcomers learn the basics and try their first course.

Donkey Hodie Weekend (June 14-15): The whole family is invited to take a trip to Someplace Else with a scavenger hunt throughout the park, meet and greets and dance parties with the lovable and spirited Donkey Hodie all whimsical weekend long;

Alma’s Way Weekend (June 21-22): It’s Alma’s Way all weekend long as guests can meet and greet with Alma and enjoy immersive arts and crafts activities; and

Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Weekend (June 28-29): Everyone’s invited to be a part of the fun with Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, including the chance to meet and greet Daniel and friends.

Join Vermont’s Native American community for Abenaki Heritage Weekend and Arts Marketplace June 14-15 at Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, Vergennes, VT. Admission FREE. Rain or shine. Citizens of Vermont’s Elnu, Nulhegan, Koasek, and Missisquoi Tribes share perspectives on life in the Champlain Valley. Storytelling, craft demonstrations, drumming, singing, and children’s play area. Featured arts include jewelry, wampum, quillwork, stonework, woodworking, and more. Strawberry season is almost here at Brookford Farm! Our organic berries are ripening up and we’re getting ready to open the fields for Pick Your Own, likely sometime mid to late June (weather and berries willing!).

Make a day of it — after picking, feel free to explore the farm. Say hello to the cows, visit the animals, and swing by our farm store for fresh goodies. You’re also welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy the view — we’ve got a peaceful spot just for that.
