PMAC's New Horizons Band - 20th Anniversary Concert
Join PMAC's New Horizons Band for a family concert that celebrates the band's 20th anniversary on Friday, March 24 at 7pm. The concert is free for all, with a $5 suggested donation at the door, and will be held in Thaxter Hall at St. John's Church, 101 Chapel Street in Portsmouth.
Program to include Liberty Bell March, Music from Stranger Things, Under the Cherry Blossoms, A Walk in the Morning Sun, Zig Zag, National Emblem March, Star Trails, The Addams Family Theme Song, and more.
The New Horizons Band program reconnects adults with the instrument they played in their youth, and also provides opportunities for adults to learn to play music in an ensemble for the first time. This education program of PMAC (Portsmouth Music and Arts Center) is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month. The concert will feature classic marches, popular music, and concert pieces for band. The band is led by director Russ Grazier, Jr. and assistant director Virginia Macdonald and features local amateur musicians who come from all walks of life.
