Obama Administration Extends Enrollment For Health Insurance

The Obama administration announced today that it is extending the deadline for millions of people to enroll in health coverage under the Affordable Care Act. Those who just became aware that they owe a penalty this year for being uninsured, and want to avoid paying a penalty next year, will now be able to sign up from March 15 to April 30, 2015.

Also today, the administration said that about 800,000 Americans who signed up for insurance through HealthCare.gov got the wrong tax information. Those who did are being asked to hold off for now on filing their taxes until the mistakes can be corrected.

Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson speaks to Michael Regan of Bloomberg News about the enrollment extension and the tax information mix-up.
