The New Hampshire Supreme Court, in a 3-2 decision issued Friday, has upheld convictions in the "Free The Nipple" case. The high court affirmed convictions for women who went topless and were found at trial to have violated Laconia's ordinance prohibiting indecent exposure.

Heidi Lilley, Kia Sinclair and Ginger Pierro are part of the Free the Nipple campaign. They were arrested in 2016 after removing their tops at a beach in Laconia and refusing to put them on when beachgoers complained.

Gilford Woman To Fight $25 Topless Citation In Court

A Gilford woman facing a $25 dollar fine for going topless at a beach in her hometown is heading to trial to fight it. She says her goal is to prove that ordinances banning female toplessness violate women’s civil rights.

And this isn’t the first time Heidi Lilley has gone topless on the beach.

Gawkers Complicate Topless Protest At Hampton Beach

On Sunday, female activists in dozens of locations around the world went topless. Their goal: to encourage women to go topless anywhere that men do. To the dismay of local lawmakers, over 500 women signed up on Facebook to participate at a Hampton Beach event in New Hampshire. 

"It’s so rainy out. There’s some people on the beach not very many. But I did just see a woman walk by with a sweatshirt on but unzipped and nothing on underneath so I guess this is really happening here."
