New data shows that Southern New Hampshire University spends more on advertising and marketing than any other private, non-profit college in the country. 

The report from the Chronicle of Higher Education shows that SNHU spent more than $130 million on advertising and marketing in 2017.

A major building initiative by Southern New Hampshire University is nearing completion in downtown Manchester.

 

The university and city on Monday are unveiling a six-story parking garage which will be able to hold 1,700 vehicles in the Manchester Millyard. 

Southern New Hampshire University is working with Walmart to offer employees a pathway to debt-free college. On Tuesday, the company announced its expansion of Live Better U. The program, which launched one year ago, now include degrees in computer science, cybersecurity and IT.

 

Southern New Hampshire University has set up a $1 million emergency fund for students and employees affected by the government shutdown.

SNHU, which has a campus in Manchester and 135,000 students worldwide, is offering payments of between $250 and $1,000 to students and employees in "immediate financial crisis" because of the shutdown.

The money will be available to students who are federal employees not receiving a paycheck because of the shutdown, or students and university employees whose spouses or partners are federal employees not receiving a paycheck.

Southern New Hampshire University is partnering with Walgreens to expand higher education for veterans.

SNHU and Walgreens will work together to help up to 5,000 U.S. veterans who work at Walgreens earn discounted masters or bachelor's degrees from the school.

 

Many New Hampshire colleges have been struggling with declining applicant and enrollment numbers for years. But a few campuses are growing.

Southern New Hampshire University continues to reinvent itself. At the beginning of the decade it had 2,000 students and shaky finances. Today, it serves more than 80,000 students online and 3,000 on campus, making it one of the country's fastest-growing universities.

This week it continues that expansion with the announcement of a major infrastructure project in Manchester.

  Southern New Hampshire University has just concluded two days of commencement ceremonies. 

  Southern New Hampshire University has been awarded a $3.9 million “First in the World” innovation grant from the Federal Department of Education.

SNHU was among two dozen colleges and universities nationwide selected for the program meant to improve access to higher education for non-traditional students.

At the first public meeting since it was announced the New Hampshire Institute of Art was engaged in merger discussions with Southern New Hampshire University, faculty, staff and students voiced their concerns.

In the NHIA auditorium, filled with about fifty people, reactions to the prospect of a merger with SNHU ranged from cautiously optimistic to skeptical. Like faculty member Sean Beavers.

“I just have a lot of concerns and I see no benefit.”

Southern New Hampshire University is launching a new bachelor’s degree program that will cost students $10,000 in total.
