Wounded Manchester Officers Are Both Out Of The Hospital; Shooting Suspect Heads To Court

Paige Sutherland, NHPR

Both of the Manchester police officers shot and wounded while chasing an armed robbery suspect have been released from the hospital.

WBZ reports Officer Ryan Hardy was discharged Saturday from Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Hardy was being treated for gunshot wounds to the face and torso.

Hardy and Officer Matthew O'Connor were shot minutes apart Friday morning as they pursued the suspect, identified as Ian MacPherson. Police say MacPherson shot the two officers minutes apart on Friday.

O'Connor was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg and released from a hospital Friday.

Police say MacPherson was not injured during the encounter. He is set to be arraigned Monday on attempted capital murder charges.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
