Special Coverage: Impeachment Hearings (November 19-21)

New Hampshire Public Radio will be carrying special coverage this week of the public impeachment hearings from Capitol Hill and related programming from NPR. NHPR will carry the hearings in their entirety, available on-air and streaming through nhpr.org.

Special coverage begins on Tuesday, November 19, with the following schedule:

9 a.m. - Live coverage of the House Intelligence Committee hearing begins, hosted by Audie Cornish. She will be joined in the studio by senior political editor and correspondent Domenico Montanaro and White House correspondent Tamara Keith for analysis. For the afternoon session, Audie will be joined by senior Washington editor and correspondent Ron Elving and political correspondent Scott Detrow.

Expected to testify:

  • Jennifer Williams, an aide to U.S. Vice President Mike Pence.
  • Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, director for European Affairs at the National Security Council
  • Kurt Volker, former U.S. Special Envoy to Ukraine (expected to testify in the afternoon)
  • Tim Morrison, former National Security Council official (expected to testify in the afternoon)

7 p.m. – All Things Considered

8 p.m. – Special Report from NPR with recap and analysis of Tuesday’s hearing. Mary Louise Kelly and Ailsa Chang will host, with various guest to be announced. The special report will preempt NHPR’s coverage of 1A Plus in the 8 to 9 p.m. time slot. 

Wednesday, November 20

9 a.m. - Live coverage of the House Impeachment Inquiry Hearing continues, hosted by Steve Inskeep with analysis by senior Washington editor and correspondent Ron Elving and diplomatic correspondent Michele Kelemen. For the afternoon session, Steve will be joined by national political correspondent Mara Liasson and White House correspondent Franco Ordonez.

Expected to testify:

  • Gordon Sondland, U.S. Ambassador to the European Union
  • Laura Cooper, an official with the U.S. Department of Defense (expected to testify in the afternoon)   
  • David Hale, Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs (expected to testify in the afternoon)

7 p.m. – All Things Considered

8 p.m. – NPR Special Report with recap and analysis of the hearing, hosted by Ari Shapiro and Audie Cornish. The special report will preempt NHPR’s coverage of 1A Plus in the 8 to 9 p.m. time slot.  

Thursday, November 21

9 a.m. - Live coverage of the House Impeachment Inquiry Hearing continues, hosted by Noel King with analysis by political reporter Tim Mak and diplomatic correspondent Michele Kelemen. For the afternoon session, Noel will be joined by senior Washington editor and correspondent Ron Elving.  

Expected to testify:

  • Fiona Hill, former National Security Council official

7 p.m. – All Things Considered

8 p.m. – Special Report from NPR with recap and analysis of Thursday’s hearings, hosted by Ari Shapiro and Ailsa Chang. The special report will preempt NHPR’s coverage of 1A Plus in the 8 to 9 p.m. time slot. 

Friday, November 22

Tune in at 9 a.m. for a special program from NHPR, “The Exchange Impeachment Special: New Hampshire Reacts.” Peter Biello will host the program, with a panel of political analysts. Listeners are encouraged to call in, submit their questions online or via social media, and give their perspectives on the impeachment hearings.
