This weekend in New Hampshire will be a cold one...cold enough to even go skiing.

Two ski resorts are kicking off the winter season this weekend in the North Conway area.

Bretton Woods has one trail open Friday. And Wildcat opens the following day.

Karolyn Castaldo of Ski N.H. said many more resorts are gearing up to open soon.

“We got cold enough temperatures this week so it’s finally starting to feel like Winter and a bunch of our ski areas are able to start making snow – Cannon Mountain, Loon Mountain, Gunstock, Cranmore," Castaldo said.

This winter season state officials are expecting more than $1.25 billion in visitor spending.
