A state Department of Resources and Economic Development committee is scheduled to discuss details of a proposal to expand the Mount Sunapee ski resort.
Critics have said they are worried that a real estate sprawl will scar the mountain.
The advisory committee to Commissioner Jeffrey Rose is meeting Thursday morning in Newbury.
Mount Sunapee Resort has been trying to expand for nearly two decades, looking to add a lift and four trails.
Rose recommended last year that the expansion area be granted to the state, where it would become part of Mount Sunapee State Park. No real estate development would be permitted on the land, but some residents worry the resort will build condos nearby.
The plan would need approval by Gov. Maggie Hassan and the Executive Council.
