Lawyer Appeals Judge's Bail Decision in Prep School Case

The lawyer for a New England prep school graduate convicted of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old freshman as part of game of sexual conquest has filed arguments appealing a judge's decision to revoke his bail.

The arguments filed Monday say the judge didn't consider conditions by which Owen Labrie abided by his bail requirements, or any alternative or combination of conditions by which he would likely abide. The lawyer also said the judge didn't consider that Labrie's bail conditions were more restrictive. The state hasn't responded yet.

The 20-year-old Labrie was living with his mother in Tunbridge, Vermont, preparing to appeal his one-year sentence and the requirement that he register as a sex offender. He admitted violating the curfew and was jailed in March.

Labrie was arrested in 2014 days after graduating from St. Paul's School in Concord.
