Insurance Department Seeks Advice on Insuring Substance Abuse Treatment

The New Hampshire Insurance Department is looking for 12 to 15 people to advise the commissioner on access to substance abuse treatment and other behavioral health services through private insurance.

Commissioner Roger Sevigny says the goal is to convene a broad group of stakeholders who represent a range of perspectives, including providers, advocates, lawmakers, insurance companies and others. Interested individuals and organizations should write to the commissioner no later than July 8.

The insurance department has been hosting meetings to discuss the issue for several months. The advisory committee allows it to formalize the group, open it to the public and invite more people to participate.
