New Hampshire residents have a chance this week to weigh in on Governor Maggie Hassan’s nominee to lead the Banking Department.
Friday’s hearing is part of the Executive Council’s process for considering the nomination of Republican State Senator Jerry Little.
Before winning his Senate seat, Little led the New Hampshire Bankers Association for more than two decades.
Critics, including the Executive Council’s two Democrats, have questioned whether his long tenure there means Little can be an independent voice in the Banking Department.
Governor Hassan has defended Little’s record and his “personal integrity.”
The nominee says he’s prepared to answer any questions about his background.
