The federal insurance program for the retired and disabled has been a hot political topic in the past. This election season, though, candidates have rarely discussed how to deal with an expected shortfall. We'll hear the views from two national experts who are here in New Hampshire this week raising awareness of the program's challenges and offering differing solutions.
- Max Richtman, president and CEO of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare.
- Romina Boccia, Deputy Director of the Thomas A. Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies and Grover M. Hermann Research Fellow at The Heritage Foundation.
We'll also hear from Cristina Martin Firvida, Director of Government Affairs for AARP. The organization's Take a Stand campaign tracks the Presidential candidates' positions on the Social Security program.
