Bryant 'Corky' Messner Joins 2020 Race For Jeanne Shaheen's U.S. Senate Seat

A third Republican has jumped into the 2020 race for U.S. Senate. Bryant "Corky" Messner of Wolfeboro, a military veteran and attorney, is pitching himself as a political outsider.

In a two-minute announcement video, Messner, plays up his humble origins and his time in the military. He also pilots a vintage wooden boat around Lake Winnipesaukee. Messner decries "career politicians who hide in the fog of Washington," and pledges to support policies backed by President Trump, including building a wall on the southern border.

"I'm running for the U.S. Senate to help President Trump fight the liberals and the socialists who are trying to kill the American dream. They are trying to take away our liberty and economic freedom. "

Messner, who founded a Colorado-based law firm, joins retired Brig. Gen. Don Bolduc and former New Hampshire House Speaker Bill O'Brien in the GOP primary. A fourth Republican, Corey Lewandowski, Trump's former campaign manager, could also get into the race.

The Republicans are vying to take on incumbent Democrat Jeanne Shaheen, who is seeking her third term.
