We’re back in school again, and back at the polls. Seemed like a good time to listen back to this conversation on the Exchange from 2009. Laura spoke with a few members of a newly appointed task force to examine the state of civics education in NH.
The guests were all members of the New Hampshire Supreme Court Society: Mary Susan Leahy; John Hutson, then-Dean of the Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord; and Tom Galligan, then-president of Colby-Sawyer College. They did not give high marks for NH's civic education; and more recent assessmentshave returned similar verdicts. Though there are those, like Constitutionally Speaking, who are trying to turn that around.
