The Defense Department's list of projects that could be cut to fund President Donald Trump's border wall includes more than $200 million at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
Projects that could be slashed include $110 million for dry dock improvements, $62 million for a consolidated paint, blast and rubber facility; and $40 million for an extended crane rail.
The 21-page list released Monday targets defense projects around the world.
Richard Smith, president of the Metal Trades Council, the largest union at the shipyard, said it's "disturbing" to see projects in the pipeline for years face potential delays.
The goal of the projects is to improve efficiency of the nation's oldest continually operated public shipyard to get submarines repaired and back to the fleet as soon as possible.
The New Hampshire congressional delegation is urging the President to reconsider his plan. "These projects are vitally important to the shipyard's mission, to jobs in the region, and have been planned for years," Sen. Jeanne Shaheen said in a statement.
