The program features J. S. Bach’s “Magnificat”, and “A Child’s Christmas in Wales”, a contemporary setting of Dylan Thomas’s classic work by American composer Matthew Harris. Felix Mendelssohn’s chorus, “Behold a Star from Jacob Shining” rounds out the program. Chorus, soloists and orchestra are under the direction of Alan Rowe. The Granite State Ringers was organized as a community handbell choir by Mary Divers and Joan Fossum in February of 2007. Their vision was to offer musicians who are committed to the art of handbell ringing a chance to play a variety of challenging music and to promote handbell repertoire to audiences all over NH.
