Law enforcement officials say a man killed in an officer-involved shooting in Belmont, New Hampshire, was shot multiple times in the torso.

Forty-five-year-old Michael Sheehan II was shot by police at 11:40 p.m. Saturday. The attorney general's office described the incident that unfolded late Saturday on the South Road as a homicide. It said the exact circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation.

The attorney general's office says no further details will be released until after the involved officers' formal interviews. The officers involved in the shooting were not named.
