Winter Storm Forecast: Heavy Snow in Afternoon, Early Eve in N.H.

A fast-moving low pressure system will bring today's snow storm to New Hampshire by late morning, with most of the state expected to receive between 8 and 12 inches of snow.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for snow to begin falling at about 11 a.m., and the front will clear out of the Granite State by 11 p.m.

There is a winter storm warning for most of New Hampshire. The Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for the Seacoast towns, which will see less snowfall, according to projections.

Most of the snow is expected to fall during the daytime Wednesday, which has prompted delays and cancellations around the state.

The forecast includes possibility of sleet or freezing rain during early evening.

Some snow projections, per the National Weather Service:

  • Greater Concord: 6-10 inches during the day, 1-3 at night; some sleet.
  • Berlin: 6-12
  • Keene: 8-14
  • Lebanon, 7-13
  • Nashua: 4-9, with freezing sleet
  • Portsmouth: 4-7.
  • Tamworth: 8-14

Southern New Hampshire has a greater likelihood of a wintry mix later in the day.
