The state’s largest utility is expecting many customers will see a drop in their monthly electric bills this summer.

Eversource Energy, formerly Public Service of New Hampshire, plans to file a rate change with state regulators next month.

The company says the reduced rates will lead to a drop of about $9 per month on average.

If approved by the state Public Utilities Commission, the new rate will take effect July 1.
