The State Conservation Committee is taking applications for $285,000 in conservation grants made possible by sales of the state's "Moose Plate."
When drivers' register their vehicles, they can spend an extra $30 for the moose plate. All funds raised through the program go to promotion, protect and invest in New Hampshire's natural, historical and cultural resources.
Eligible applicants include municipalities, county conservation districts, county cooperative extension natural resource programs and municipal conservation agencies. Other eligible groups include schools, scout groups and other nonprofits that conduct natural resource conservation programs.
Applications are due September 26. Awards will be announced in December and funding will be available beginning in April.
