Manchester School District Taps Fall Mountain Leader As New Superintendent

Manchester School District

A search committee chose the next superintendent for the Manchester School District over the weekend.

Debra Livingston was chosen from a pool of three finalists and over 30 applicants to head the state’s largest school district.

The city’s Board of School Search Committee voted unanimously in favor of Livingston on Saturday, following a series of final interview with the finalists that morning.

She is currently the superintendent of the Fall Mountain Regional School District, a small SAU in the southwestern part of the state with an enrollment of just under 1,600 students.

She’ll take over a school district nearly ten times that size.

Livingston replaces Thomas Brennan, who is stepping down at the end of the month.

This is the second attempt at finding a replacement. The first search was scrapped after one finalist pulled out, and two other finalists could not gain majority support from the board.

Livingston starts July 1 at a salary of $160,000.
