New Hampshire's Legislature has voted to override a bill vetoed by Gov. John Lynch that is intended to help public school students switch to private schools.The bill would provide tax credits for businesses that contribute to organizations that award scholarships for private school and home-schooled students.
Lynch argued the bill would allow private organizations to determine the use of public education funds and would shift limited state money away from public schools because districts would lose state education aid for each student receiving a scholarship.
There were enough votes in both the House and the Senate to override the veto by a two-thirds majority on Wednesday.
