Coastal Residents Flee As Hurricane Matthew Threatens Florida

DAVID GREENE, HOST:

All right, we are tracking Hurricane Matthew this morning. That storm is hugging the Atlantic coast of Florida. Hundreds of thousands of people have lost power. More than 2 million people have been urged to evacuate. Dennis Feltgen of the National Hurricane Center says this storm is churning northward.

DENNIS FELTGEN: Any location that's in the hurricane warning area, particularly northeastern Florida and southeastern Georgia, need to take immediate action. Their time window for preparations is just about done.

GREENE: And we will bring you updates on the path of Hurricane Matthew all day long. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
