And this morning, we're finding out more about the circumstances surrounding yesterday's attacks at the Sandy Hook Elementary School. Lieutenant J. Paul Vance of the Connecticut State Police has confirmed the gunman who massacred 26 children and adults at the school forced his way into the building.
NPR has learned that the mother of the shooter has been found dead in a nearby family residence. Lt. Vance says the medical examiner has positively identified all of those who were killed, including the children. They have not yet released their names.
Elsewhere in the program, we will hear from a clinical psychologist, who is counseling children of the community and communities nearby.
