State health officials say 11,000 people have signed up for Medicaid managed care since the open enrollment period launched a little more than two weeks ago.
The Department of Health and Human Services has scheduled a series of forums to help others sign up.
Medicaid recipients were given until late November to select from one of three out-of-state companies to manage their health care plans starting in December.
Associate commissioner for the Department of Health and Human Services Mary Anne Cooney says more than 100,000 Medicaid beneficiaries still have to enroll.
“We’re hoping that these client forums that we’re holding will reach out to those populations that may be a little confused about whether or not they should enroll because we do have some populations that don’t have to enroll.”
She says while enrollment is voluntary for some, those recipients must still opt out or they will be automatically assigned a provider.
The first session is scheduled for Thursday, Oct 15 in Portsmouth.
Sessions are also scheduled for Oct. 17 in Keene, Oct. 18 in Manchester and Oct. 22 in Littleton.
