Two New Hampshire Energy efficiency programs are teaming up to try to weatherize more New Hampshire homes. The Community Development Finance Authority is combining its weatherization program with Public Service of New Hampshire’s.
PSNH’s program will pay for half of residential energy efficiency improvements, up to $4,000. The CDFA offers zero interest loans to cover the other half of the cost.
Kate Peters directs the CDFA’s loan program, and says that previously its program had served only Berlin, Nashua, and Plymouth.
Peters: This collaboration has actually opened up the opportunity to work around the state and we are talking to the other utilities, so hopefully even more towns will be in included.
The CDFA received around $10 million in stimulus funds that need to be used by the end of May of 2013.
Peters says the partnership with PSNH is slated to use around $1.5 million dollars to winterize 500 New Hampshire homes.
