History of Brewing in NH Presentation
Griffin Free Public Library has received a grant from New Hampshire Humanities to offer a free presentation on the history of brewing in New Hampshire. Scholar and author Glenn Knoblock will present “Brewing in New Hampshire: An Informal History of Beer in the Granite State from Colonial Times to the Present” on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 7 pm to 8 pm at the library.
Knoblock explores the fascinating history of New Hampshire's beer and ale brewing industry from Colonial days, when it was home- and tavern-based, to today's modern breweries and brew pubs. Unusual and rare photos and advertisements document this changing industry and the state's earliest brewers.
Auburn-based Prodigal Brewing Company will supplement the presentation with samples for attendees who are over 21.
This program is free and open to the public. Registration is required and seating is limited. To register, visit the calendar at www.griffinfree.org and click the registration link for the event. For more information, please contact Griffin Free Public Library at 603-483-5374.
