Looking to Brush Up on Candidates' Policy Positions? We Can Help

We’re 41 days out from the New Hampshire primary — which means plenty of voters will be moving beyond the window-shopping phase of the campaign and trying to settle, more seriously, on their presidential picks.

That might mean making the rounds at more town halls, rallies and other traditional first-in-the-nation forums to get a sense for how the candidates handle themselves in person. But it could also mean doing your homework on the candidates’ policy positions. On that end, we can help.

For an introduction to some of the major issues that dominating discussion on the campaign trail, look no further than NHPR's “Where They Stand” series, part of our newsroom's State of Democracy initiative.

All year, NHPR reporters have been comparing candidates’ proposals on everything from higher education to climate change to campaign finance reform.

Want to know how Hillary Clinton, Martin O’Malley and Bernie Sanders differ when it comes to gun control? Try this timeline.

What about the Republican candidates’ prescriptions on foreign policy? This interactive lets you explore what they’ve said about fighting ISIS, dealing with Russia and more.
