Donald Trump Jr. has tweeted emails that show he was told that the Russian government would provide him with information about Hillary Clinton as part of a Russian effort to help his father’s campaign.
Trump Jr. tweeted the emails just before New York Times reporting revealed more details about the June 2016 meeting Trump Jr. and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, and how it came about. The meeting was arranged by Rob Goldstone, a publicist for Russian pop star Emin Agalarov. In 2013, Agalarov and his father, who are close to Russian President Vladimir Putin, sponsored the Trump-owned Miss Universe pageant in Moscow.
