New Book Examines Jefferson’s Legacy: Most Blessed Of Patriarchs

Thomas Jefferson, the author of the Declaration of Independence, was also a slave owner. In their new book, “Most Blessed of Patriarchs: Thomas Jefferson and the Empire of the Imagination,” Annette Gordon-Reed and Peter Onuf grapple with his legacy as it relates to slavery and the founding of the nation.
