FDA Clamps Down On E-Cigarettes

On Thursday morning, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration finalized long-awaited rules restricting access to e-cigarettes, cigars and hookahs. Under the new rules, e-cigarette producers will have to register their ingredients with the FDA, and would not be allowed to market their products as “mild” or “light” without FDA approval. Here & Now’s Robin Young speaks with NPR’s health policy reporter, Alison Kodjak.
