Amazon Publicly Responds To New York Times Exposé
Two months after The New York Times published a widely-read article about Amazon’s allegedly brutal white collar workplace culture, the Seattle online retailer has finally responded publicly.
The rebuttal, titled, “What The New York Times Didn’t Tell You,” was posted on the online publishing platform Medium and written by Jay Carney, Amazon’s senior vice president of Global Corporate Affairs and former White House Press Secretary. The piece questioned The Times’s sources and said Amazon was not asked for comment on several negative anecdotes.
Here & Now’s Robin Young speaks with Jason Del Rey of Re/code for a look at the rebuttal and the reaction it’s getting.
