The Environmental Protection Agency issued a new rule on ozone pollution on Thursday, and it’s already under fire from two sides. Environmentalists say the EPA isn’t going far enough to restrict the pollution that causes smoggy skies, and business leaders say the agency could hurt the economy with its new rule.
The Sierra Club is calling the new rule a “missed opportunity,” saying it will continue fighting for stronger standards. The National Association of Manufacturers calls the rule “overly burdened and misguided” and says it “will inflict pain on manufacturers big and small.”
