Redskins Will Appeal Court Ruling

The Washington Redskins plan to challenge a federal judge’s order that cancels the trademark registration for the Washington Redskins.

A group of Native American activists first challenged the trademark registration in 1992, and administrative boards have ruled against the team before. But this is the first time that a federal judge ruled against the team and found that the name may be disparaging.

Here & Now sports analyst Mike Pesca joins host Robin Young to discuss the ruling and whether opponents are getting closer to their goal of seeing the team be forced to take on a different name.
