Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter, a four-term Democrat from Rochester, is calling for President Donald Trump to step down or face impeachment.

This follows Trump's refusal to publicly acknowledge Russian election meddling during his meeting on Monday with President Vladimir Putin. But now Trump is saying he misspoke and meant to say he saw no reason why it wasn't Russia that meddled. Shea-Porter joined Morning Edition by phone to talk about this news.

New Hampshire's Democratic U.S. senators are encouraged that President Donald Trump is pursuing diplomacy with North Korea's Kim Jong Un, but are uneasy about Trump's pledge to end joint military exercises with South Korea.

Sen. Jeanne Shaheen said Tuesday the announcement "seems to have come as a complete surprise" to both South Korea and the Pentagon. Both she and Sen. Maggie Hassan said the concession also appears to have been made without anything more than vague assurances from North Korea.

President Donald Trump took more swipes at Canada and its prime minister over trade issues as he settled in for a summit with North Korea in Singapore, contending that "Fair Trade is now to be called Fool Trade if it is not Reciprocal."

Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort made several attempts to tamper with witnesses in his ongoing criminal cases, prosecutors said Monday as they asked a federal judge to consider revoking his house arrest.

President Trump has nominated Manchester Police Chief Nick Willard for U.S. Marshal for New Hampshire.

Willard, who has served as chief of police since 2015, had appeared with Trump a couple of times on the presidential primary campaign trail and spoke of the Granite State's fight against the opioid abuse epidemic.
