The Ballot Story: From Template to Tablet

Ballots fresh off the presses at Capital Offset company

Tomorrow its predicted that more than seven hundred thousand Granite Staters will be walking into town halls, school gymnasiums, and  church basements. And with pencils and pens, they will fill in their choice for everything from President to Selectman.  But have you ever wondered where all those ballots come from?  There’s one Concord-based company prints all of them, each election cycle and has been doing so for 30 years.  NHPR’s Keith Shields, took a tour and the facility and brings you this story.

Final Poll Before Election Suggests Democratic Sweep

The final round of Polling from the UNH Survey Center is in, and it indicates that Democrats have maintained a slight edge in the Granite State going into tomorrow’s election.

This latest poll suggests that President Barack Obama, Senator Maggie Hassan, and Anne Mclane Kuster have maintained slender leads over the past week.

The poll's biggest surprise comes in the first congressional district where incumbent Congressman Frank Guinta and former Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter have pulled even.

Question 2: Ballot Measure Would Give Lawmakers More Control Over Courts

For the third time in a decade, New Hampshire voters are being asked to approve a constitutional amendment that would give the legislature more power to regulate the Granite State's court system.

Question 2 on the Nov. 6 ballot would give lawmakers "concurrent power" with the state Supreme Court to establish judicial procedures, from how to file a lawsuit, to which cases are heard on appeal, to what evidence is admissible at trial.

Volunteers Work To Get Out Every Last Vote

Rick Christie is every candidate’s dream volunteer. He sports buttons, he speaks with passion, and he puts in his time.

"Hello, David. My name is Rick. I’m working for the Romney campaign. How are ya?" 

Christie is in Manchester, going door to door for Mitt Romney. He estimates he’s knocked on about 2000 doors since June. Of course, not all go well.

Polls still show a near dead heat between Romney and President Obama in New Hampshire.

Obama, Clinton Rally Democrats in Concord

President Bill Clinton, Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Governor John Lynch and President Barack Obama wave to the crowd in downtown Concord

President Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton rallied a crowd of 14,000 people in Concord New Hampshire Sunday. It was Mr. Obama’s final bit of local campaigning, and it came in the wake of new UNH poll that shows him in a tie with Republican Mitt Romney.

New Hampshire has just 4 electoral votes but you wouldn’t know it the way the both presidential campaigns are stumping here. This rally brought our democrats in force. Senator Jeanne Shaheen and Governor John Lynch urged the President’s re-election. The Former President Bill Clinton made his case.
