With Christmas a week away, shoppers are crowding into malls, outlets, and downtown shopping districts looking for last-minute gifts. But, for those looking for unusual handmade gifts, there’s another, unorthodox, option available.
Governor John Lynch took to the new outlet mall in Merrimack today to promote New Hampshire’s lack of a sales tax.
Governor Lynch’s visit comes as Massachusetts is about to have a two day reprieve from its 6.25 percent sales tax.
Lynch praised state retailers for doing a good job promoting New Hampshire’s lack of a sales tax and stressed that retail sales are critical to the state’s economy.
