Daniel Webster College in Nashua is breaking new ground.

The academic trend to educate students in the field of counterterrorism is growing nationwide.

But critics say colleges are capitalizing on a fad and fear.

New Hampshire Cities Grapple With Budget Deficits

Wall Street has been the scene of incredible financial reversals lately.

Here in New Hampshire, financial problems for many communities are much less spectacular, but no less real.

For instance, Manchester and Concord are both on track to run annual deficits as they head through their fiscal years.

But in Nashua, the city’s budget has so far stayed out of the red.

Nashua Teacher Contract on the Table for Aldermen

This week, the Nashua Board of Alderman will take a third look at a proposed teacher’s contract.

The union’s stalemate has lasted almost two years.

If approved, the contract would require the city to override its spending cap.

If it fails, Nashua schools may see a higher than usual attrition rate.

A New Way to Heat Nashua Schools?

The Nashua school district is digging deep to improve its grades in energy efficiency.

If approved, Nashua schools will be the first in the state to heat their buildings using geothermal heat.

District officials say the long-term savings are huge.

But so are the upfront costs.

A Public Bridge Built with Private Money
