Kaddish

By Virginia Prescott on Thursday, May 1, 2008.

Friday is Holocaust Remembrance Day, and this weekend, audiences in Keene will hear brand new music that looks back at the atrocities of World War II. The piece is called Kaddish, and it was commissioned to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Keene State's Cohen Center for Holocaust Studies. It's a rich, moving musical work created by New Hampshire composer Larry Siegel. The libretto uses the words of Holocaust survivors remembering the horror and tragedy of that dark page of human history. Larry gives Word of Mouth host Virginia Prescott a preview of the piece.
