While waiting for Hillary Clinton to arrive at the Loaf and Ladle I asked Sen. Maggie Hassan how she thought things stood in town. Hassan has endorsed Clinton. She said "Unclear. Some people are for Hillary, some are for Obama and people keep their leanings to themselves."

Public Radio station WCBU in Peoria, Illinois, became the first station to post a link to PPO on its home page and then promote the project on-air. A Peoria blogger picked up on the news and wrote about it. He liked the site but complained about the disproportionate influence of a small state like NH.

An Exeter PPO member responded and I alerted the PPO community to his defense of the NH primary -- adding my own commentary as well.

As we pulled up to the Scamman Farm in Stratham, NH for the Seacoast Republican Women's Chili Fest, lightning bolts were on the horizon and the first rain drops began to fall.

There certainly are other towns or small cities that I might have chosen so this focus on Exeter is no slight to any other community. In fact, when I first thought of following one place for the year leading up to the primary, a colleague suggested that we follow three places and for a while, I was thinking in those terms.
