Dems Try to Make Points From Manchester Bar Fight

Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta's run for Congress has run into some controversy.

The state Democratic party is criticizing the mayor's behavior following an incident in a private club in town.

Republicans are fighting back.

Some on both sides say important political issues are getting lost in the fray.

Live Dog Racing May Disappear from New Hampshire

State law used to require tracks run live dog races alongside simulcasting.

But changes to the law lifted that requirement to save the state money.

State Layoffs Loom As Negotiations Continue

Negotiators have until midnight to reach a new agreement between the state and its employees.

If that doesn’t happen, Governor Lynch’s job to find $25 million in savings to help balance the budget will only be that much more painful.

New Hampshire Public Radio’s Dan Gorenstein reports that union representatives and the state agree the longer it takes to reach an agreement the more likely people will lose their jobs.

Numbers Divide: The Battle Over State Spending
