Don't Toss Those Tokens

The Department of Transportation has been getting pressure from state residents about their old highway tokens.

As of last Sunday, the tokens are no good at toll booths, although drivers have been finding ways to disguise them.

The DOT is working on various buy-back proposals, but no plan has been given the stamp of approval.

In the meantime, the owner of a bookstore in Amherst has an offer he knows you can't refuse.

EZ Pass Costs A Continuing Concern

In place only a week, the EZ-Pass program is already far outstripping anticipated costs. The growing outlay is one reason the state's top transportation official has suspended all scheduled turnpike maintenance.
