Mark Handley Farewell

By Laura Knoy on Wednesday, October 12, 2005.

He was at the helm of NHPR for fifteen years, during the station's difficult transition from music to news, during its mushrooming audience numbers, during many a fundraiser and during the evolution of new programming like the Front Porch and The Exchange. Mark Handley's last day at NHPR is Friday, when he'll take the helm of a new kind, sailing on a two year trip around-the-world. But before he departs we'll talk with him about his time at NHPR, the changes it's gone through and his thoughts on the future of public radio.
