Fishing for Fine Art

By John Walters on Monday, May 2, 2005.

Matthew Smith is a printmaker and sculptor who eschewed a career as a commercial fisherman after seeing the results of overfishing around the world. He turned to art, as a way to draw connections to the natural world. His work can be seen at his new gallery, ?The Copper Canoe? in Exeter.
