Political Movies

By Laura Knoy on Friday, October 15, 2004.

Fahrenheit 9-11, Celsius 41.11, Bush's Brain and Hijacking Castrophe, they're part of a group of new documentaries and films with a political slant looking to entertain, make people think and possible influence voters. Politics has always been a part of Hollywood but this year it seems more than ever. We'll look at this year's crop of politically driven movies as well as look back in time at the ways that Hollywood and politics have crossed paths in the past. Laura's guests are Garen Daly, a film reviewer living in Gilmanton and artistic director of the Dedham Community Theatre in Dedham, Massachusetts, and Larry Benquist, professor of film studies at Keene State College.
