A team of biologists is trying to solve a wildlife mystery on Umbagog Lake. The lake is located in the North Country, on the Maine/New Hampshire border. For the past few summers, the number of nesting pairs of loons on Umbagog has fallen off sharply. Researchers admit they are baffled. As part of their efforts to determine a cause, biologists recently implanted two loons with satellite transmitters. New Hampshire Public Radio?s Doug MacPherson reports.
