Combat Trauma

Many soldiers have difficulty acclimating to civilian life upon returning home from war. Behaviors useful in combat aren't always conducive to day to day life. Our guest says there are ways to minimize the psychological trauma of the battlefield. Homer's The Odyssey is, he states, a casebook for the struggles of returning veterans. Laura's guest is Dr. Jonathan Shay, author of "Odysseus in America: Combat Trauma and the Trials of Homecoming."
