Gauging NH's 'Social Capital'

By Laura Knoy on Tuesday, March 6, 2001.

Social capital is the fiber some people say we need for a healthy communities. A new survey finds NH is rich in this resource. Findings show Granite Staters are civic-minded residents who trust their neighbors and volunteer more than people in other states. Still, organizations that track social capital say these connections to our communities could erode as more outsiders move into the state. Laura's guest is Lew Feldstein, President, NH Charitable Foundation (www.nhcf.org)
