New England's Groundfish

By Laura Knoy on Thursday, April 25, 2002.

Conservationists say the government isn't doing enough to rebuild fish stocks and want stricter fishing regulations. But critics say more regulations could all but kill the New Hampshire groundfishing industry. Laura talks with Nancy Girard, director of the Conservation Law Foundation's New Hampshire Advocacy Center www.clf.org, David Goethel, owner and operator of fishing vessel "Ellen Diane," and Eric Bilsky, senior attorney with Oceana, an ocean protection advocacy organization www.oceana.org.
